Your Weight Matters For Your Health Free Resource

The Your Weight Matters Challenge was created in 2010, and started as a simple mission — to spread the word about the importance of weight and health, and to encourage each and every American to talk to their doctor about their weight.

The Obesity Action Coalition has accomplished a lot with this initiative. To date, there are more than 15,000 Your Weight Matters Challengers, and they’re all people just like you.

They’re the ones who took a step on the scale one day and thought to themselves: “I’m affected by extra weight, but I don’t know what to do.”

They’re the ones who made that doctors appointment to start a conversation, but find themselves thinking: “I want to talk to my doctor, but I don’t know where to start.”

And they’re also the ones who have tried every weight-loss product advertised in the media today, yet nothing seems to work. So they think to themselves: “Nothing seems to be working. I’m ready to address my weight, the right way. But I don’t know where to start.”

That’s where we come in. Here at Your Weight Matters, we’re here to give you the RIGHT information about how to approach the daunting challenge of improving your weight and health. We know talking to your healthcare provider about your weight is never easy, but by taking the Your Weight Matters Challenge, we’ll give you the resources you need to walk into the appointment with the information you need to get the conversation going.

Once you and your healthcare provider have established a weight-loss plan that fits your needs (because no two people are exactly alike!), we’re here to provide you with tips, resources and motivation to stay on track with your goals.

Statistically speaking, 80 to 90 percent of people who lose weight have a difficult time maintaining that weight-loss, because the body’s natural response to weight-loss is to gain it all back. By visiting our newly created blog, you’ll learn about strategies for maintaining your weight, along with exercise tips, nutritious recipes and how to stay motivated along the way.

We’ll be posting regularly, so be sure to check back every week to get the latest from us. And if you haven’t signed up yet to take the Your Weight Matters Challenge, we highly recommend doing so. Right off the bat, you’ll get a free print resource from us, and you’ll be signed up for Your Weight Matters Weekly, a weekly e-newsletter digest of everything you may have missed from us this week.

Have a question you want the RIGHT answer to? Shoot us an email at info@yourweightmatters.org, and we’ll work on making sure our response to you is supported by evidence-based research and recommendations from the experts.
