Create Your Very Own Weight Management Bucket List

You’ve decided to take charge of your weight and health, and you’re ready to begin (or continue with) your weight management journey. For just a moment, think about the types of goals that might be running through your mind. Do any of these sound familiar?

  • I want to drop ____ lbs!
  • I hope I can lose ______ lbs by [this date].
  • I just want to fit into this article of clothing!

If this sounds like you, you’re not alone. Many individuals trying to lose or manage their weight are sharply focused on the specific number they see on the scale, or even the sizes they see on their clothing.

While these are common feelings and desires, this makes healthy goal-setting a lot more difficult. A safe and rewarding weight management journey lets you feel the enjoyable experience of watching your body grow and improve each and every day, and your specific goals should reflect that desire!

Let’s take a look at some of the other ways you can set realistic, FUN and rewarding goals!

What Might be on Your Own Weight Management Bucket List?

Think long and hard about some of the short-term and long-term goals you want to accomplish. Here are a list of examples to get your brain moving in the right direction:

  • Perform a Brand New Exercise – Maybe it’s a simple sit-up or push-up. Maybe’s it’s even a 5k or the ability to shoot hoops with your family in your nearby basketball court. What would you like to try?
  • Compile a Cookbook of Healthy Recipes – Shopping for, finding and creating nutritious recipes can seem like a daunting task. Aim to create your OWN book of ideas to fuel your body on this journey!
  • Inspire Others You Know – Your own weight management determination can inspire others to begin their very own journey toward improved health!
  • Make Healthcare Visits a Routine – Regularly make time to see your Primary Care Physician so you can stay up-to-date on your health year-round.
  • Conquer a Big Fear Is it simply getting on the scale? Working out around other people? Opening up to a loved one? Conquering your fears can bring freedom and renewed motivation.
  • Wear a New Article of Clothing As your body changes, try something on that you may have never worn before. This could boost your confidence and inspire a new sense of style!
  • Create a POWER playlist Your weight and health journey never truly ends, so create a playlist full of feel-good, energetic songs to keep you motivated for the long-run! CLICK HERE for a good example.
